This is just a thought - like most of my posts.. Once Dr. Leithart wrote in his "Against Christianity" that the book was " a theological haiku" - collection of random thoughts, the ones that hopefully make sense for someone.
While I was preparing a devotional message for a Lenten mid-week service I came across the idea that Paul kinda starts with wrath of God 1:18 and comes back to the same theme at 5:9. I started to compare the block and came up with this beautiful chiasm (more on chiasm or chiastic structures see here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chiastic_structure )
Paul begins with an Introduction 1:1-15.
then:
1. A. 1:16-17 - The Gospel of Christ - for all, both Jews and also the Greeks
2. B. 1:18-32 - wrath of God
3. C. 2:1 - 3:20 - Judgement of God
4. D. 3:21-26 - Righteousness of God
5. C'. 3:27 - 4:25 - Justification by faith
6. B'. 5:1-11 - Saved from the wrath of God
7. A'. 5:12-21 - The Gospel of the One saving all.
